Soy wax is a 100% plant-based candle wax made from soybean oil. Unlike petroleum-derived paraffin it comes from a renewable source, burns at a lower temperature and leaves no soot. Those three properties make it both longer lasting and better suited to indoor spaces.
Every candle in the Studio Craftisan collection is hand-poured with 100% natural soy wax in our workshop in Seferihisar, Izmir. We use no paraffin, no additives and no synthetic fillers.
Benefits of Soy Wax
- Burns clean and leaves no soot marks on walls or ceilings.
- Lasts noticeably longer than a paraffin candle of the same volume.
- The lower melting point spreads fragrance more softly and evenly.
- Plant-based and biodegradable; the vessel is easy to clean afterwards.
- Comes from a renewable source.

How Long Does a Soy Candle Burn?
Burn time depends on volume, wick thickness and how you use it. As a rule, a 200 g soy candle burns for 40-50 hours with proper care. Letting the surface melt fully on the first burn and keeping the wick trimmed extends that noticeably.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is soy wax really healthier?
Soy wax comes from a plant source and leaves no petroleum residue as it burns. Both types are fine in a well-ventilated room, but soy is the cleaner choice indoors.
There are white patches on my candle - is it faulty?
No. Known as frosting, this crystallisation is characteristic of natural soy wax and does not affect quality. If anything it is a sign the wax is 100% soy.
Why can I not smell my soy candle?
Usually because the melt pool has not spread far enough. On the first burn, wait until the surface liquefies to the edges.
What should I do with the vessel afterwards?
Clean it and reuse it. For concrete vessels: How to Clean a Concrete Candle
How should I store soy candles?
Away from direct sunlight and heat sources, at room temperature. Keep the lid on if you will not burn it for a while.
