The Benefits of Wooden Wick Candles
The heart of a candle is its wick. At Studio Craftisan we use wooden wicks in many of our candles, because compared to the classic cotton wick, a wooden wick offers both sensory and practical advantages.
1. A Crackling, Soothing Sound
As it burns, a wooden wick produces a gentle crackle reminiscent of a fireplace. This sound makes your evening rituals and downtime far more atmospheric.
2. A Wide, Balanced Melt Pool
A wooden wick creates a horizontal flame that melts the candle's surface more evenly. This reduces the risk of tunneling and helps the candle burn more uniformly.
3. A Cleaner Burn
When cared for correctly, a wooden wick leaves less soot. Trimming the wick before burning is enough for a clean, smokeless flame.
4. Natural and Aesthetic
With its natural material, a wooden wick adds a warm, organic touch to the candle's look — creating a cohesive aesthetic especially alongside concrete and soy wax.
Wooden Wick Care
To get the best from a wooden wick, break off the charred tip with your fingers or scissors to about 5 mm before each burn. If the wick is too long the flame stays weak; if too short it may not light.
With our wooden wick soy candles, you can enjoy an experience that appeals to both your eyes and your ears.
